Six of eight missing manhole covers in Jalan Pending replaced after swift action by MBKS, TM

KUCHING, Aug 8: Six out of eight missing manhole covers along Jalan Pending have been swiftly repaired and replaced, following prompt intervention by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and Telekom Malaysia (TM).

MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, together with councillors Albert Tay and Eric Tay, conducted an on-site inspection this morning alongside officers from Telekom Malaysia to assess the progress of the repairs.

“We commend Telekom Malaysia for their swift and proactive response in addressing this safety hazard. This effort ensures the area is now much safer for both motorists and pedestrians,” he said in a statement today.

Wee assured that MBKS will continue to monitor areas where manhole covers are missing or damaged to ensure timely repairs are made.

“The safety of our residents will always be our top priority,” he added.

Wee also urged members of the public to report any uncovered or damaged manholes through the iPeople App, Talikhidmat, or by contacting MBKS directly at 082-238080.

“Your cooperation and timely reports can help prevent accidents and keep Kuching safe,” he said. — DayakDaily
