Six-month parking closure, overnight road closure announced for ART works in Stutong

KUCHING, Jan 23: Motorists and business owners in Stutong are advised to plan ahead as Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Metro) has announced a six-month closure of parking lots at Stutong Commercial Centre, alongside a temporary overnight road closure at Lorong Stutong 1A, to facilitate ART station construction and utilities relocation works.

According to separate notifications issued by Sarawak Metro, parking lots at Stutong Commercial Centre will be closed for six months, from Jan 23 to July 22, 2026, to allow for ART station construction works. The closure will be in effect 24 hours daily throughout the duration.

Road users are advised to exercise caution when driving in the affected area and to adhere strictly to all traffic management control measures, road warning signs and speed limits to ensure the safety of both motorists and construction workers.

In a separate notice, Sarawak Metro also announced a temporary road closure at Lorong Stutong 1A, scheduled from 10pm on Jan 23 until 4.30am on Jan 24, involving a one-night closure for utilities relocation works.

The company said road users are advised to be cautious when driving in the affected area and to plan their journeys accordingly during the closure period.

Sarawak Metro stated that it will duly notify the public should there be any changes to either notification.
