KUCHING, Aug 15: Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) is organising the 20th edition of Siol International Mountain Bike Challenge (SIMBC) at Siol MTB Track here from Aug 25 to 27.
Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) and Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the event, which is organised in conjunction with Kuching Festival 2023, has received 68 entries so far.
Out of the total, 39 entries are cyclists from abroad such as the Philippines, Thailand, Taipei, India and Brunei.
The event is sanctioned by Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), Malaysian National Cycling Federation and Sarawak Cycling Association (SCA), as well as sponsored by Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, Penview Hotel, Giant Bicycles, Leaves Food Industries Sdn Bhd and Barkath Co-Ro Manufacturing Sdn Bhd.
Competitors would be vying for a total cash prize pool of RM67,274.80 under various categories.
The details on the categories and prizes for SIMBC 2023 are as follows:
Online registration is still open with different entry fees for each category until Aug 24. Walk-in registration would be available on Aug 25.
