KUCHING, Sept 18: Pusa, which has only one new Covid-19 case, has recorded six out of 10 Covid-19 fatalities for today.
According to reports by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), four among the six were brought-in-dead (BID) cases where victims had already passed when arriving at the Betong Hospital.
Coming in second after Pusa was Betong that took up three deaths, where two were BIDs.
The remaining one death case was in Sibu, involving an 82-year-old female with hypertension and chronic kidney disease.
Of the other victims aged between 29 and 79 in Pusa and Betong, only one had no known medical illnesses while the others all had comorbidities.
Today’s figure of 10 deaths is not the highest record ever in Sarawak. On Sept 5, the State calculated a sky-high number of 15 mortalities in a single day.
Following Sept 5, the trend has been inconsistent whereby the lowest record went down to three deaths on Sept 17 while the numbers juggle between one- and two-digit on other days.
As of this day, the cumulative number of deaths in Sarawak stands at 669. — DayakDaily
