KUCHING, July 8: Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris has allocated RM150,000 from his Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) fund to upgrade the community hall at Kampung Terasi Iban.
He said the hall was erected for RM200,000 in 2023, and following a visit with Public Works Department (JKR) to the hall last June, he saw the need for several upgrades.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), he said the upgrading works would be implemented this year, including the construction of parking spaces, electricity and water supply, and setting up of the toilets and a stage.
Awla said this when attending a ‘Leaders’ Meeting with the People’ session organised by the Kampung Terasi Iban Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) on Saturday (July 6).
Also present were Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee, Penghulu Pawi Sidi, and Kampung Terasi Iban community leader Andi Ranga. — DayakDaily
