SIMANGGANG, May 21: Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis has presented 40 bunk beds, 80 mattresses and 80 pillows worth RM37,600 to Sri Aman Hospital yesterday (May 20).

He presented the assistance after learning from the hospital’s director Dr Hazwani Mohd Yusop that the Sri Aman Quarantine and Low Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) located at Indoor Stadium here was in dire need of such facilities due to an increase of Covid-19 patients capacity.

According to Dr Hazwani, the increasing Covid-19 trend requires full fledge preparation to accommodate the patients and therefore, she made a request for 38 double decker beds for the Sri Aman PKRC during a recent Zoom meeting with the Sri Aman Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) and relevant authorities.

The request was then approved by the Sri Aman DDMC. Meanwhile, the Public Works Department (JKR) was given the responsibility to procure the supplies.

“The Sri Aman Division also needs another PKRC so that individuals who are found to be positive for Covid-19 will continue to be placed in the local PKRC without having the need to transfer the patients to PKRC Serian and PKRC Betong,” said Harden who is also the coordinator for Sri Aman DDMC.

On the vaccination, Harden disclosed that the Sri Aman Division has recorded a total of 79,364 registrations through MySejahtera so far.

“There is an estimated of 6,392 more people who are eligible for the vaccine but have yet to register,” he said. — DayakDaily
