Sibu Rural District Council staff tested positive, chairman urging all staff be tested

KUCHING, Jan 15:  A staff of Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) was diagnosed to be Covid-19 positive and has been admitted to the Sibu Hospital for treatment.

In a statement, SRDC chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai made the announcement and urged all council staff who have been in contact with the said staff to undergo Covid-19 tests tomorrow (Jan 16, 2021).

He said SRDC will commence sanitisation as soon as possible.

Petrus and his deputy chairman Wong Ching Yong had both undergone PCR tests yesterday and both their results came back negative.

“SRDC will be closed down, with immediate effect, until further notice,” said Petrus.

Meanwhile, he also took the opportunity to call on the public to strictly comply with all the requirements of MCO.— DayakDaily
