Sibu primary schools to resume physical classes tomorrow, except 8 in Covid-19 high-risk areas

KUCHING, March 14: All primary schools in Sibu will resume physical classes tomorrow (March 15), except for eight of them located in Covid-19 high-risk areas.

Sibu District Education Department head Ahli Chiba said, in a statement yesterday (March 13), eight of these primary schools are to start their classes on March 22 instead, which is one week later than the others.

He said this decision was made following a close observation of the recent Covid-19 situation and advice from the Sibu Health Department.


Eight of these schools include Sk St Rita, SJK Sacred Heart Chinese, SJK Uk Daik and SJK Chung Sing under Zone 5, SK Sentosa under Zone 15, SK Sg Durin, SK Ulu Durin Kiba and SK Sg Naman under Zone C.

After receiving the announcement sometime in the afternoon yesterday (March 13), several schools have started to inform the parents regarding this arrangement.—DayakDaily
