SIBU, Sept 22: The local police in Sibu have been instructed to conduct thorough investigations for every complaint lodged by the community.
Sibu District Police Chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, emphasised the importance of investigating each case with unwavering integrity to prevent community discontent with the investigative process.
“Investigating officers must constantly stay informed and equip themselves with legal expertise and standard operating procedures (SOPs) designed to address any shortcomings or lapses during investigations,” he stated.
“In this regard, we must not allow room for the community or any specific group to hurl insults due to a lack of confidence in the police’s ability to carry out their investigative duties,” he addressed the attendees during the Sibu police monthly parade.
He underscored that public satisfaction with the services offered by the police is an essential gauge of the overall quality of law enforcement.
“When it comes to service, we, as members of the police force, must consistently deliver excellent and high-quality service, adapting to the changing times.
‘Therefore, I urge all members of IPD Sibu to collaborate in ensuring that the service quality we extend to the people in Sibu district remains excellent, in accordance with the force’s theme, ‘Police and Society are not separated,’ whether working in the field or at the complaint counter.”
“We must communicate with the community using language that is pleasant and courteous,” he stressed.
Simultaneously, he called for a transformation in mindset and work approach among the Sibu IPD PDRM members, encouraging them to adopt a first-class work culture grounded in more intricate and intellectual thinking. — DayakDaily
