SIBU, March 25: Sibu Hospital is in need of essential items such as surgical masks, face shields, sanitizers, safety gowns and soap for frontline staff fighting the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Sibu Hospital Visitors Board is organising a fundraising campaign to purchase these items, revealed its chairman Stanley Chiew, as the need for these items has spiked drastically since the beginning of the outbreak.
“We urge the public to be generous with donations to ensure adequate supply of these items for frontliners’ use at Sibu Hospital,” he appealed in a statement today.
Members of the public who wish to make a donation may do so through online transfer to the board’s Maybank account (511216162896).
“Our board members are not going out personally to request for public donation. If there are people using the name of our board seeking for donation, the public is advised to immediately inform me,” Chiew added.
Those who had made donations are also advised to WhatsApp him the bank-in slip so that the board can issue acknowledgement letters to them.
Chiew added that those who prefer to make online transfers may also buy the requested items and hand them over to the board. However, they are advised to consult the board first prior to purchasing the items as certain items might not be suitable for use by hospital frontliners as they have their own specifications to follow.
