KUCHING, June 27: The Sarawak Housing Real Estate and Development Association (Sheda) is inviting its members and non-members to participate and submit their projects and corporate social responsibility (CSR) work for the Sheda Excellence Awards and Sheda CSR Leadership Award 2024.

Sheda’s organising chairman, Zaidi Ahmad, stated that these awards offer an opportunity for industry professionals to showcase their expertise in real estate and enhance their brand reputation.

“Developers can use the awards platform to spotlight building technology, creative architecture and design, evolved marketing techniques, and superior property management services,” said Zaidi at a press conference today at the Sheda Conference Room.

The awards aim to encourage developers to continue delivering premium products for Sarawakians, including top-notch medical, educational, and tourism facilities, community-inspired spaces, and distinctive landmark structures.

Zaidi highlighted that innovative and exceptional property developments over the years demonstrate Sheda’s commitment to meeting the expectations of discerning purchasers and investors.

The Sheda Excellence Awards adjudication panel traditionally includes representatives from the Sarawak branches/chapters of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM), the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP), and the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM).

For 2024, there will be five main award categories: Landed Residential, Strata Development, Affordable Housing Development, Commercial, and Master Plan. The registration form contains further details for subcategories such as institutional buildings and mixed developments, as well as eligibility criteria.

“In keeping with the Sarawak government’s green agenda, Sheda’s awards continue to prioritise green designs, strategies, and programmes,” Zaidi said.

“Customers today are looking for reliable developers who behave responsibly towards the environment and community and practice good governance. We invite developers to nominate themselves or their peers for this prestigious award,” he said.

Winners will be recognised and celebrated by their industry peers and experts at Sheda’s annual gala dinner on Nov 9 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

The deadline for submission is Aug 9. Entry fees are RM2,500 for Sheda members and RM5,000 for non-members.
