The delegation also met with Malaysia Proptech Association (MPA) president Dr Daniele Gambero and his team members.

MPA consists of various PropTech (property technology), ConTech (construction technology), and FinTech (financial technology) organisations and is recognised as the representative of the Property and Construction Technology solution providers.

The delegation also visited MRANTI, an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), which was formed by merging Technology Park Malaysia and Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC) in November 2021.

Located across a 686-acre land in Bukit Jalil, MRANTI is a one-stop shop for innovators and tech entrepreneurs to find all resources, funding, advice, and commercialisation facilities in Malaysia.

The delegation then stopped over for a tour of the new campus of Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) and was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief of Innovation and Enterprise Officer, Prof Dr Ir Vinesh Thiruchelvam.

At the university, the delegation was briefed on Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and drone technologies that could be applied to property development, including a tour of the APU XR (Meta) Studio, which is a first-of-its-kind facility developed in partnership with Ministry XR Malaysia.

In a statement today, Sim described the study tour as successful as the delegation gained knowledge on immersive property VR/AR experience, including other simulations.

“The digital economy and transformation to move us to be a developed State is important, and the constant updating of what is available now will assist us in moving positively towards our goal,” he said. — DayakDaily
