SGH bans ward visiting starting May 10, except for critical patients with doctors’ permission

A notice by SGH on the restrictions of visiting on hospital grounds.

KUCHING, May 8: No ward visiting is allowed during visiting hours at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) here except for critical patients with permission from doctors effective this coming Monday (May 10).

This is the latest notice by SGH today where it also stopped children under aged 12 years from visiting the hospital.

For visitors or guardians with permission onto hospital grounds, they are required to wear their face masks at all times.

Meanwhile for children ward, only mothers or female guardians are allowed to be by the side of the patients.

Adding on, SGH also set a regulation where family members or visitors of emergency cases are not allowed into the Emergency Department without the department’s permission.

“Following the increase of Covid-19 cases, SGH is taking preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection of Covid-19 on patients, medical staff and visitors,” it said. — DayakDaily
