KUCHING, Jan 20: Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) is one of the few cardiac centres in the world with more than 20 years of digital data for artificial intelligence (AI) predictions, says Deputy Sarawak Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
He said this in a Facebook post after attending an official function in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration at Batu Kawa Min Lit Secondary School Kuching yesterday.
“(I was) sharing with the vendors and school’s board on my personal experience (do, don’t, pitfalls) from the cardiac service in SGH where in 2001, we started buying the new digital cardiac equipment, (looking into) the management system and the integrations.
“As a result, we (SGH) are one of the few cardiac centres in the world with (more) than 20 years of digital data for AI predictions,” he said.
Dr Sim, who is the Sarawak Minister of Public Health, Local Government and Housing, further said that schools play an essential role in talent development for Sarawak’s nation-building, which includes the need to embrace technology.
“Challenges of technology is when to ‘buy’ or ‘implement’. Impressive smart classroom technology with affordable prices is available in the market at the moment,” he added. — DayakDaily
