KUCHING, Oct 19: Upgrading works of the Sungai Tangap–Pujut Link Road under the Redline project along the Pan Borneo Highway are nearing completion with a physical completion rate of 99.98 per cent and are expected to be completed by Nov 17.
According to Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the Beluru Section was completed earlier and received its Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC) on November 30, 2024.
“One of the key achievements under this package is the Lambir Section Viaduct Bridge—a 301.2-metre structure comprising 10 spans and 88 bored piles with a 1,200 mm diameter.
“This bridge was constructed as an engineering solution to address ground movement issues that had previously caused delays to the overall construction of the Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak,” he said in a Facebook post.
The Kapit MP added that with an allocation of over RM57 million, the viaduct was fully opened to traffic on September 17.
“This milestone demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the Ministry of Works, Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, and project implementation partners—ensuring that every stone and every metre of road is built with safety, quality, and sustainability as the top priorities,” he said. — DayakDaily
