KUCHING, June 7: Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) is inviting cave explorers and nature enthusiasts to its next event, playfully titled ‘Cave A Fun Day’, set to take place at the Wind Cave Nature Reserve on July 29 and 30 at 8am.
According to a post on its social media, SFC said the event is held in conjunction with National Caves and Karst Day 2023.
Cave A Fun Day promises an array of exciting activities, educational experiences and exploration that will transport visitors into the fascinating realm of caves.
The event aims to promote awareness and appreciation for these natural wonders while providing an entertaining and educational platform for participants.
Attendees can look forward to a storytelling session that would unveil the hidden secrets and creatures of the caves.
Visitors also have the opportunity to express their creativity in the rock painting activity and leave a lasting mark on the rocks of Wind Cave Nature Reserve.
There will also be an educational tour where visitors can join knowledgeable guides who will take them through the Wind Cave to discover the geological formations that have shaped these underground chambers and gain insight into the unique wildlife that thrives in this habitat.
Visitors can also stay and witness the magical transformation of the caves under the moonlight during the night tour.
In addition, there will be an educational talk that gives visitors opportunity to have discussions with experts in the field and learn about the ecological importance of caves and gain insights into SFC’s efforts to protect and preserve these invaluable ecosystems.
A car boot sale will also be on site, offering a variety of bargains.
Admission to the event is free, with only an entrance fee to the Wind Cave Nature Reserve.
