KUCHING, Oct 10: Several areas in Sarawak are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds until 6pm today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) in a Facebook post at 2.50pm today, warnings have been issued to Kuching, Serian (Tebedu), Sarikei, Mukah, Kapit (Song, Kapit, and Bukit Mabong), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri, and Marudi), and Limbang.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with an intensity of rain exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to occur for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release,” said the department. — DayakDaily
