KUCHING, April 26: A total of seven people from two workshops were arrested for operating their vehicle workshops on a day other than which is allowed during the Movement Control Period (MCO) yesterday.
The first workshop which is located in Pending was raided by police who happened to be patrolling the area around 10.30am. Four males and one female were arrested in the workshop for violating the MCO.
Police raided the second workshop located at Taman Sri Wangi, Petra Jaya around 12.20pm and arrested two male workers after they failed to provide reasonable reasons for operating the business on non-approved days.
All the arrested workers will be investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 2020.
Kuching District Chief Police, ACP Awang Din diclosed that IPD Kuching will patrol the city more frequently and will take action on those who violate the MCO during this time of pandemic. — DayakDaily
