“SETUJU!” – PBB Southern Zone cheers in full support of Premier Abang Johari

KUCHING, Jan 19: The atmosphere at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Southern Zone Branch Delegates Meeting today was electric as members enthusiastically rallied behind Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg as the party president, with roaring chants and heartfelt cheers.

From the moment PBB vice president Dato Sri Dr Roland Sagah Wee Inn began reading out the 10 resolutions, the hall came alive with shouts of approval. Delegates cheered loudly after each resolution, their unwavering support evident in the thunderous applause that followed.

At times, members were so eager to express their agreement that they shouted “Setuju!” and other words of approval even before Sagah could finish reading a resolution.

The Premier, visibly moved by the show of unity, acknowledged the delegates’ overwhelming support.

As the meeting concluded, the energy in the room remained high, with a strong sense of camaraderie and determination filling the air. PBB Southern Zone members left more united than ever, ready to champion Abang Johari’s vision for a stronger and more prosperous Sarawak.

The resolutions are as follows:

1. To propose that the positions of PBB president, deputy presidents, and senior vice presidents remain uncontested.

2. To support and grant full authority to the Premier to assert Sarawak’s rights as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

3. To support the efforts of the Premier and the Sarawak government to increase the number of parliamentary seats for Sarawak to achieve one-third representation in the Dewan Rakyat.

4. To fully support the policies and development strategies of the Premier and the Sarawak government for economic inclusivity while fostering harmony, balance, and unity among the people.

5. To fully support the leadership of the Premier in ensuring that Sarawak becomes the most advanced region in Malaysia and the Asian region.

6. To strengthen economic activities and encourage entrepreneurship in both urban and rural areas through entrepreneurial development programs.

7. To urge the Sarawak government to maintain a firm stance against any parties attempting to raise racial or religious issues in Sarawak to safeguard unity and prosperity for all.

8. To increase information dissemination, training, and education programs so that the public can participate in digital economy and new economy activities.

9. To support the Sarawak government’s efforts in education through funding and assistance, as well as realising the policy of free education at Sarawak-owned universities starting in 2026.

10. To expand and increase village expansion schemes in Southern Zone areas to accommodate population growth.
