KUCHING, Sept 29: The haze has worsened in Sarawak, with eight areas recording Air Pollutant Index (API) readings above 100, placing them in the unhealthy category as of 11am today.
According to the Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak (NREB), Serian recorded the highest API at 175, followed by Lundu (162), Samarahan (160), Kuching (159), Betong (151), Sri Aman (142), Lubok Antu (120), and Kanowit (101).
Several areas recorded moderate readings, with Tebedu bordering the unhealthy line at 100, followed by Sarikei (77), Sibu (74), Samalaju (72), Mukah (67), Belaga (66), Bintulu (65), and Kapit (62).
Meanwhile, Lawas recorded an API of 40, placing it under the ‘good’ category, along with Miri (38), ILP Miri (33), Limbang (30), and Bario (29). — DayakDaily
