KUCHING, Mar 10: Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (AZAM Sarawak), Sarawak Development Institute (SDI) and Faradale Media-M (FMM) had their chance to take a sneak peek into D-Virtual Park, the first virtual reality (VR) theme park in Malaysia.
The purpose of the visit to the park located at Serba Dinamik facilities and Smart Hub in Kota Samarahan on Mar 10 was to explore potential collaborations and linkages in future programmes as VR technology will become an increasingly important and accessible tool in various industries as the state moves towards Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0).
The site also houses the Serba DigitalX Fablab (a community and innovation Lab) and SDx Studio (a co-working space) which are among the key developments of the Smart-Integrated Project which includes the one-of-a-kind D-Virtual Park, ESports Arena and D-Tamu (digital kiosks for hawker centers and local traders).
“This is the new lifestyle and community hub that can boost creativity and innovation. Thus the establishment of Serba DigitalX (SDx) as an innovation and creative hub will become a hotspot for talent and creative community to work on projects and share ideas,” General Operation Manager of Serba Dinamik IT Solutions, Abdul Qaiyum Alidin said.
According to Abdul Qaiyum, D-Virtual Park will also create an ecosystem for the younger generation to channel their creativity into bringing greater benefits to their communities.
“This initiative will not only provide an ideal environment for makers, creators, innovators but also position Sarawak as the preferred location for startups to grow globally,” he added.
A variety of VR entertainments such as VR Speed Cruiser, VR Elevation D’Luxe, VR Gyrate and many more are also available at D-Virtual Park.
The official launching of the park is slated for Mar 23 and various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed between Serba Dinamik and other agencies.—DayakDaily
