Septuagenarian hurt in road crash in Miri

MIRI, Feb 21: A 71-year-old man suffered bodily injuries when the motorcycle he was riding was hit from behind by a car along Miri Bypass Road at about 1.25pm today.

According to state Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, both vehicles were heading towards Permyjaya from Riam when the collision took place.


“Upon reaching the scene, the motorcyclist made a sudden stop to turn into the right junction, and it was during this moment that the car, driven by a 20-year-old male student, crashed onto the motorcycle,” he said when contacted.

The motorcyclist was later taken to Miri Hospital. — DayakDaily
