Senior journalist robbed at self-service launderette

MIRI, July 24: A local journalist working with an English daily here was robbed by two men, while doing his laundry at a self-service launderette yesterday.

The incident, which took place in Permyjaya, occurred at around 12.15pm.

The 49-year-old victim was alone at the premise when suddenly, an unknown man approached him from behind and grabbed the wallet that was placed at his back pocket.

The suspect immediately escaped with an accomplice who sped off the scene on a motorcycle.

Apart from missing essential documents, the victim also reported to have lost cash amounting to RM450.

No injuries were reported in the incident. A report has been lodged at Miri central police station.

The police are investigating the case. — DayakDaily
