KUCHING, Aug 13: Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, today presided over the Investiture Ceremony for Sarawak State Honours and Awards, conferring distinctions upon 154 recipients in recognition of their outstanding service, dedication and contributions to the State.
According to Sarawak Information Department, the ceremony, which was held at the Astana Sarawak, saw the presentation of various State honours and medals to individuals from diverse professional backgrounds whose efforts have contributed significantly to Sarawak’s development and public service.
The investiture commenced with the conferment of the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K) upon 12 recipients. Among them were Senior Counsel of the Sarawak Attorney-General’s Chambers, Mohd Adzrul Adzlan; Deputy Director (Livestock Industry) of the Sarawak Veterinary Services Department, Dr William Rovina Nating; and Head of the Urban Development Division at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDeNR), Forkanizam Dolhadi.
Also honoured with the P.B.K. were Dr Nik Azim Nik Abdullah, Dr Aini Fahriza Ibrahim, Dr Rokayah Julaihi, Alison Buda, Knot Atok, Samai Bajan, Zaidi Sarkawi, Gerard George Entigar and Thadeus Ling Bartholomew Allu.
The Pingat Pentadbiran Awam, Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B) was subsequently awarded to 19 recipients, including Major Jeffery Ling Jalak, Associate Professor Dr Ahmad Nizar Ya’akub, Abang Masli Abang Willie, Abang Mat Noor Abang Abdul Samat, Andrew Modol, Hardi Sapiei, Mahathir Mohammad, McWillyn Jiok, Sam Budi, Christhe Mansom and Emelia Tambi.
Among those conferred the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S) were Sarawak-based Muay Thai prodigy Muhammad Johan Ghazali or ‘Jojo’, Anderson Kalang Lah, Baling Ellison Duren and Bangsawan Jahri.
The ceremony continued with the conferment of the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K) on 21 recipients, including Ahmad Nur Irfan Amirruddin, Jungan Buda, Sebastian Kaban Apong and Mellissa Ogang.
In addition, 42 individuals received the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam, Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T), while 45 recipients were awarded the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S).
Also in attendance were the Governor’s spouse, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh, Sarawak Federal Secretary Dato Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan and other invited guests. — DayakDaily
