SARIKEI: A 69-year old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of an unemployed man at a car park of a longhouse in Sare near here last night.
Sarikei district police chief, Supt Awang Arfian Awang Bujang said the 36-year old victim succumbed to serious injuries inflicted by a sharp object.
“The police received a report at about 5pm from the family of the deceased that he was attacked with a sharp object,” he said.
A police team rushed to the scene which is about 25km from Sarikei town. They found a deep cut on the neck of the deceased. He was then wearing only sports short.
“We immediately conducted an investigation. This led to the arrest of the suspect who we believed was involved in the man’s death,” he said.
Supt Awang Arfian said the motive for the attack is still being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. -DayakDaily
