KUCHING, Oct 17: Senator Abun Sui Anyit has called on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to ensure the continuation of the Initiatif Kemudahan Rakyat (IKR) and Sejati Madani programmes in the 2025 Budget, focusing on the well-being of rural communities in Sarawak.
In a statement today, Abun Sui revealed that the prime minister had responded positively to his suggestions during a briefing session on Oct 13.
He emphasised that these programmes are crucial for addressing the needs of rural residents and improving their living conditions.
“I am grateful that the prime minister has considered the requests of rural Sarawakians, and I expect the 2025 Budget to focus on essential infrastructure and reducing the cost of living,” Abun Sui added.
He expressed his appreciation to the government for its commitment to supporting the development of rural Sarawak. — DayakDaily
