MIRI, July 11: The 11km water pipeline project to improve water pressure and distribution covering Pujut-Senadin area is expected to be completed next month.
LAKU Management Sdn Bhd chief executive officer, Franklin Ucar, hoped that consumers in the area remained patient throughout the construction phase of the project.
The Pujut-Senadin pipeline is one of two major water projects currently ongoing in the city, which included the construction of the water reservoir in Bukit Selatan at Jalan Hills.
The project undertaken by the Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) is expected to be completed in January next year.
“Once completed, JBALB will hand over the project to us. Based on the water catchment area capacity, the reservoir will accommodate about 27 million litres of water,” he told reporters after visiting residents at the Miri Home for the Aged here today.
On issues concerning water supply disruption and pipe bursts, he advised consumers to contact LAKU’s hotline at 085-426626 for assistance.
“Please do not hesitate to call our hotline for help, so that we can act fast to tackle issues relating to water supply,” he said.
Franklin led some 30 agency staff on their visit to the old folks home where they presented goodies and angpau to the 26 residents, who were also treated to lunch. — DayakDaily
