He was found to have corruptly given a gratification of cash RM18,000 to Inspector Syahrulhafizy Gahazali, who is also the head of the Batu Kawa police station, in consideration not to proceed against his worker who has allegedly committed an offence under Section 4(1)(g) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, at Genesis Walk Mall 2, Jalan Matang Batu Kawa, at about 6.30pm on Oct 19, 2020.

He was charged under Section 214 of the Penal Code and punishable under the same section and read together with Section 34 of the same Code.

According to the brief facts of the case, Inspector Syahrulhafizy lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

On Oct 19, 2020, the complainant along with two police personnel were on an operation at Genesis Walk Mall 2 and arrested the ten workers who allegedly committed an offence under Section 4(1)(g) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and found four computers believed to have been used for online gambling activities.

A few minutes later, the accused appeared and claimed that he was the business owner of the online gambling activities and offered RM18,000 to the complainant not to take any legal actions against his workers.
