KUCHING, March 25: SEDC Energy (SEDCE) plans to develop four new flagship multi-fuel stations (MFS) along the Pan Borneo Highway and expects them to be operational by 2030.
SEDCE, in its statement cited by TVS, said that these new stations would be developed in strategic locations, including Bintulu, Miri, Sibu, and Sri Aman.
It noted that this initiative is part of SEDCE’s efforts to strengthen sustainable energy infrastructure in Sarawak and support the state’s decarbonisation goals by 2050.
Through the implementation of these stations, SEDCE hopes to strengthen the hydrogen value chain in Sarawak, thereby promoting the use of clean energy and green technology among the community.
Launched in 2022, the Darul Hana MFS is Malaysia’s first multi-fuel station offering hydrogen refueling and EV charging, with a daily hydrogen production capacity of 150kg.
The second flagship station in Batu Kawa is scheduled to be launched in the second quarter of this year, with the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Cooperative (KOBOPEM) appointed as the station operator.
Altogether, SEDCE aims to develop six flagship MFS stations across Sarawak.
The establishment of these stations is expected to benefit not only users but also the local economy, while simultaneously promoting innovation in the energy sector.
Meanwhile, SEDCE and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Sarawak distributed 700 servings of spicy porridge to the local community to enliven the spirit of the Ramadan month at Petros MFS Darul Hana yesterday.
Also present at the event were SEDCE chief operating officer Foo Kim Leong, and JBPM Sarawak deputy director Tiong Ling Hii. – DayakDaily
