KUCHING, Jan 20: Menara Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) building located at Kuching Isthmus will be close from Jan 21 to 22 to enable sanitizing works during the two-day period.
SEDC general manager Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul Kadir disclosed that sanitizing works on every level of the building are necessary in order to ensure the health and safety of the people working at the various divisions of SEDC.
“We are taking the initiatives to sanitize the various workplaces at Menara SEDC building so that the health and safety of our workforce are ensured especially in curbing the spread of Covid-19.
“The workforce at SEDC are required to comply and strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the relevant authorities including Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), Ministry of Health (MoH) and State Health Department,” Abdul Hadi said in a statement.
He added that all staff members are required to undergo temperature checks, sanitise their hands and register themselves with the MySejahtera Apps before they enter the Menara SEDC building in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 at their workplace.
Apart from enforcing the SOP at the head office of SEDC, the corporation had also issued directives to all of its subsidiaries and affiliate companies to follow suit including the commercial properties, hotels and resort that are owned and managed by SEDC.
“We would like to assure members of the public that every care will be taken to ensure the health and safety of our customers, as well as every member of our workforce, can discharge their duties in a secure environment,” he said.
The building will be re-opened on January 25 and normal office operation hours will be resumed. — DayakDaily
