ā€œThe project is currently in the land acquisition stage now and the design is almost complete.

ā€œIt will be ready to be tendered by the beginning of next year,ā€ he said in his speech during the opening ceremony of Ang Cheng Ho Quarry Multipurpose Hall in Batu Kawa here today.

Based on a previous report, the new dual carriageway will start from the existing Jalan Batu Kawa/Matang traffic light junction, crossing Sungai Sarawak to Tan Sri Wee Boon Ping Road traffic light junction and Jalan Stephen Yong.

At the same time, Dr Sim, who is Batu Kawah assemblyman, further said that Abang Johari has approved the Jalan Stephen Yong extension project to ease road congestion in Kampung Segedup.

Presently, he said many motorists resort to using alternative routes in Kampung Segedup as a shortcut to travel from Batu Kawa to Matang.

It was previously reported that the Jalan Stephen Yong extension project will involve the construction of a 3-kilometre link road from Jalan Stephen Yong traffic lights through Segedup to Matang. ā€” DayakDaily
