KUCHING, June 16: A 36-year-old man has been reported missing in the jungle near Rumah Panjang Puyu, Sebauh, after he failed to return home from a frog hunting trip early Saturday (June 14).
The victim, identified as Rudy Ranggau, was last seen leaving his longhouse around 5am to search for frogs along Sungai Asau and Sungai Puyu, located behind the settlement.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a search operation was launched this afternoon following a direct call from Bintulu District Police Headquarters at 3.50pm.
“Search efforts were conducted within a 6km radius of the longhouse and along the rivers using the L.A.S.T (Look, Ask, Search, Tell) concept,” said Operation Commander PBK II (TBK I) Jemat Sulaiman from the Bintulu Fire Station.
The operation, however, was suspended at 5pm due to darkness and will resume tomorrow morning.
Rudy is described as slim, approximately five feet tall, and has tattoos on his arms and legs.

The search team consists of Bomba personnel, police officers, and members of the Civil Defence Force (APM), supported by one fire department Hilux vehicle.
As of press time, Rudy has not been located. — DayakDaily
