MIRI, Nov 10: A 39-year-old man has gone missing after failing to return to his home in Kampung Beraya Batu 1, Miri.
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the man, identified as Budi Budin, reportedly left his home on Nov 2 and was expected to report to the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) office by Nov 5.
However, he did not return home, prompting his family to file a police report at Bekenu Police Station in the evening of Nov 8.
Sarawak Bomba was then alerted of the case and launched a search and rescue (SAR) operation for the man.
Today (Nov 10), the Bomba team searched within a 1-kilometre (km) radius around the man’s home.
“At 2pm, the search expanded to a bush area 3km away, based on information from family members who had previously seen the man in that area.
“After finding no signs of the man, the team proceeded to Siwak Cemetery at 4pm, following reports that [he] often visited his mother’s grave.
“By 5.30pm, the SAR operation had yet to find the man or any clues to his whereabouts. The search was paused at 6pm and will resume the following day,” Bomba reported.
Budi is bald, has a slim build, and stands approximately 167 cm tall.
He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved black shirt paired with floral-patterned shorts and slippers. — DayakDaily
