SDEC, CENTEXS, DBOS host special iftar for Peryatim children

KUCHING, March 8: In a meaningful gesture this Ramadan, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) Berhad, together with the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) and the Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), organised a special iftar to honour children from the Sarawak Orphan Children Welfare Association (Peryatim).

Held at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre (HEEC) this evening, the event was attended by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

A key moment of the evening was the presentation of a RM25,000 donation to Peryatim, reinforcing the organisers’ dedication to supporting underprivileged children during the holy month.

The children were treated to a generous iftar meal, followed by moreh, in an atmosphere of warmth and unity.

Thirty Peryatim children also received ‘duit Raya’, bringing joy and embodying the spirit of giving that defines Ramadan.

With over 400 guests in attendance, the gathering provided an opportunity for stakeholders, corporate leaders, employees, and the wider community to strengthen ties. The event concluded with congregational Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers.

Also present were Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, SDEC chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani, SDEC CEO Dato Sudarnoto Osman, CENTEXS CEO Dato Syeed Mohd Hussien Wan Abd Rahman, and DBOS CEO Datu Laura Lee Ngien Hion.

The initiative underscored SDEC, CENTEXS, and DBOS’ collective commitment to community welfare, ensuring that the spirit of Ramadan is shared with those in need. – DayakDaily
