KUCHING, June 3: The Education Ministry will distribute school reopening management guidelines tomorrow (June 4) as part of the country’s post-Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) for schools.
Yesterday, Education Minister Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin visited Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Engku Husain in Semenyih, Selangor to see the preparations for school reopening.
Together with him were Ministry of Health (MOH) director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, National Security Council (MKN) director general Mohd Rabin Basir, Ministry of Education (MOE) director-general Dr Habibah Abdul Rahim and representatives of Family Health Development division.
Dr Noor Hisham in his Facebook post today said they were briefed by the school principal and that preventive measures adopted against Covid-19 were based on the post-CMCO school management guidelines.
“The guidelines were provided by the MOE, in collaboration with MKN and MOH, including procedures for student arrivals, classroom movements, classroom arrangements, cafeteria movements and other aspects,” Dr Noor Hisham said.
As announced by Dr Mohd Radzi, the opening date for schools will be announced at least two weeks before school opens.
“This will be based on the advice of MoH and the current situation of Covid-19 infection in Malaysia. Priority will be given to Form 5 and 6 students who will be taking the SPM, SVM, STPM and STAM exams,” Dr Noor Hisham added.
He also applauded the commitment shown by teaching staff and school management in ensuring compliance with the guidelines provided.—DayakDaily
