BINTULU, Oct 1: A school van carrying five students caught fire near Tatau clinic early this morning, resulting in the driver suffering serious injuries.
The van driver suffered 70 per cent burnt, while one of the student suffered light injuries. The remaining four students were unharmed in the incident.
The Fire and Rescue department were called to the scene at about 6.53am.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported that the fire was successfully extinguished by members of the public using three units of fire extinguishers.
The fire only affects 10 per cent of the vehicle’s engine parts.
Members of the public also assisted in bringing the victims to the clinic nearby. — DayakDaily
