KUCHING, Nov 21: A school assistant has been sentenced to three years in prison by the Magistrates’ Court here after admitting to molesting an 18-year-old male student with a learning disability earlier this year.
Azlan, 47, pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force with intent to outrage the victim’s modesty.
The charge was read before Magistrate Nursyaheeqa Nazwa Razali.
The offence occurred on Feb 20 at around 5.20pm inside a special education classroom at a secondary school in Serian.
Case details revealed that the victim has met the accused to ask for cigarettes but was instead coerced into removing his clothes, made to watch pornographic content, and forced into inappropriate acts. The victim managed to escape when he heard his friends calling from outside.
The teenager later confided in two friends and his father, who subsequently filed a police report on March 20.
Police arrested the accused on April 8. Investigators reported that the incident left the victim distressed and traumatised.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Chuah Kai Sheng conducted the prosecution, while Inspector Rizel Nante led the investigation. The court ordered Azlan’s prison term to begin immediately.
In a separate case heard on Oct 29, the same court fined Azlan RM9,000 or imposed two years’ jail in default for possessing 98 files believed to contain child pornographic material on two smartphones seized during the investigation. — DayakDaily
