SCCI extends support to Bintulu flood relief efforts

KUCHING, March 5: The Sarawak Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) has extended its support to the flood relief efforts in Bintulu with a financial contribution of RM30,000, demonstrating its commitment to assisting communities affected by the recent floods.

In a press statement, it said the donation was made as part of SCCI’s ongoing efforts to support disaster relief initiatives and provide aid to those in need.

The cheque presentation ceremony was held at the SCCI Office in Kuching, where SCCI president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg, formally handed over the contribution to the Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) through Abang Zainudin Abang Turkey, Deputy Resident of Bintulu.

The financial assistance will be channelled towards relief efforts to help affected residents recover from the disaster.

“The flood situation in Bintulu has significantly impacted many communities, prompting various government agencies, NGOs, and private sector organisations to step in with relief assistance.

“SCCI continues to encourage collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors to strengthen disaster response and recovery initiatives across Sarawak,” it said. – DayakDaily
