KUCHING, April 7: Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) presented RM110,000 to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.

The donation is to support SDMC in its efforts to curb the Covid-19 pandemic, and in solidarity with other organisations which are doing the same in this time of crisis.

“I hope that the contribution from SCCI could support initiatives by the Sarawak government to protect people affected by this outbreak especially the frontline healthcare personnel to battle against Covid-19,” SCCI president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg said.

He handed over the cheque for the donation to Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah who is also the deputy SDMC chairman. — DayakDaily
