KUCHING, Dec 23: Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) Mayor Datu Junaidi Reduan warned the public not to open nor respond to email purportedly sent under his name as it is a scam.
Junaidi explained that the email falsely bearing his name circulating around did not originate from him.
“It has come to my attention that there are attempts made by certain parties using an email under my name, Datu Haji Junaidi Haji Reduan, with the intention to gather personal information from unsuspecting email recipients.
“Please be warned that I have no part in this and it is possibly a scam attempt using my name,” he said in a media release today.
Junaidi added that he will lodge a police report on the fraudulent activity.
As such, he strongly advised anyone receiving the email with the said name to be extra careful and not to open or respond to the email. — DayakDaily
