KUCHING, Aug 5: The seventh Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS 7.0) has portrayed Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s genuine efforts to help Sarawak businesses get through the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lauding the announcement made yesterday (Aug 4), Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg said SBF members are exhilarated and grateful that requests from the business community have been heard.

“This shows that our Chief Minister is truly genuine in reaching out to help businesses adversely impacted by the MCO (Movement Control Order) and that the BKSS 7.0 is the fruitful result and positive response of the engagement session in which the Sarawak government obtained feedback from business associations and trade guilds on July 1.

“We hope businesses will leverage on this opportunity to move forward,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Abang Karim, who is also Sarawak Chamber of Commerce & Industry president, said BKSS 7.0 especially the special one-off financial assistance of RM10,000 for active, registered businesses in Sarawak will be a huge relief to those suffering financially from the Covid-19 impact.

On behalf of SBF and its members, he expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Sarawak government for its generosity. — DayakDaily
