KUCHING, Jan 22: Staff of the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) stepped forward to donate blood today, reinforcing the council’s commitment to community welfare through its annual blood donation campaign held in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

In a press release, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng expressed his appreciation to the Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital for its continued partnership in organising the campaign, and commended MBKS staff who voluntarily participated.

He described their willingness to donate blood as a noble act of compassion that directly contributes to saving lives, noting that blood donation is among the simplest yet most impactful acts of kindness.

“By donating blood, our staff become silent heroes who offer hope and a second chance at life to patients in critical need,” he said, adding that the strong turnout reflected the caring spirit and unity among MBKS personnel in supporting the healthcare needs of the community.

Wee said the annual campaign not only helps maintain a stable blood supply, but also serves to raise public awareness on the importance of regular blood donation and encourage more healthy individuals to take part in the life-saving effort.

He also extended his gratitude to the dedicated medical team from the Blood Bank of SGH for their professionalism and commitment in ensuring the smooth and safe conduct of the campaign.
