KUCHING, Oct 3: Tabuan Jaya Anglican Church, in collaboration with the Malaysian Red Crescent Society, will hold a CPR & AED Awareness Talk on Oct 25 from 9am to 12 noon at Level 2 of the church’s multipurpose hall.

According to a media release, the initiative seeks to raise awareness on sudden cardiac arrest, one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and highlight how prompt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and timely use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can dramatically improve survival rates.

The half-day programme will feature hands-on demonstrations and training led by certified professionals.

It aims to raise awareness about the importance of CPR and AED in saving lives, provide practical training, and equip participants with the confidence to act quickly in emergencies.

At the same time, the organisers hope to promote community engagement in public health safety, encourage institutions such as schools, offices and community centres to adopt AED accessibility and training, and build a stronger network of trained responders and medical professionals to support local emergency preparedness.

“This engaging session is designed for everyone — no medical background is required,” the organisers said.

Participants will learn how to perform CPR correctly, how to use an AED safely, and the critical steps to take before emergency services arrive.

The church, located at 262 Lorong Song 1, Tabuan Heights, 93350 Kuching, welcomes registrations via the QR code provided in the event flyer or through the link https://forms.gle/V8eFamwZEvsuWJgG9.
