Satok Suspension Bridge open to public for 3 days for New Year

KUCHING, Dec 31: The Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) has announced the opening of the Satok Suspension Bridge to the public for three days from Dec 31 to Jan 2, 2022 to coincide with the New Year celebrations.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), PWD assistant director (Electrical) Andrew Wang Hock Lai said the decision was made after receiving requests from the public.

“The opening time of the bridge is from 6am to 12am for these three days.


“It will be completely closed on Jan 3, 2022 to continue the work to improve the lights for Phase 2.

“The maximum number of people on the bridge is limited to 100 people only,” he said today.

Following this, members of public are reminded to always be careful while passing through the bridge and must comply with the instructions of security officers.

The use of the bridge is at the risk of each user. — DayakDaily
