KUCHING, May 19: Those who have always disparaged Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) have resorted to complaining about petty issues because they “have no more bullets”.

Satok assemblyman Dato Ibrahim Baki said this is because GPS has achieved several notable successes in fighting for the rights of Sarawak in recent months.

Among them, he said, were the review of the distribution of Special Grants to Sarawak and Sabah based on Article 112D of the Federal Constitution, the devolution of power to Sarawak to approve development projects up to RM50 million, and the federal government’s green light to set up Sarawak’s own boutique airline.

“To our detractors, this means we are right all along. We have never wavered in our quest—our objective and struggle are still the same. We are for Sarawak. Sarawak first!

“Hence those detractors who complain incessantly have no more bullets and in trying to remain relevant, they knowingly or unknowingly; intentionally or unintentionally; resort to petty issues,” he said when debating the motion in appreciation to the TYT’s speech at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.

While criticisms with basis and sound reason are welcomed, Ibrahim urged GPS’ detractors not to harp on petty issues for political mileage for the sake of Sarawak. — DayakDaily
