KUCHING, Feb 1: Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki today handed out RM1.2 million in Minor Rural Project (MRP) contributions to local associations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community groups and school committees in Satok constituency.
Speaking at the event held at Pertubuhan Anak Seni Bandarsah Kuching (PASBK) Hall, Ibrahim expressed gratitude for the gathering and to the community for their continued support.

“This afternoon, we have 95 recipients receiving aid, which actually comes from the MRP allocations at the end of 2025, amounting to approximately RM1.2 million.
“God willing, there will be more in 2026. Now that I am a deputy minister, the allocations have increased, and we can distribute more to support our people,” he said in his speech.
Ibrahim is the incumbent Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Sarawak (Utility), specifically overseeing Sarawak Energy Berhad (Sarawak Energy) and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS).

At the same time, Ibrahim stated that the MRP contributions are part of a wider effort to support community organisations and their activities.
“I understand the need for funding, having been involved in NGOs and associations before. These contributions help them run their programmes and serve the community,” he said.
Ibrahim also apologised for not being able to attend every community event due to scheduling conflicts but assured residents that supporting them remains a top priority. – DayakDaily
