Satok rep delivers aid to flood-affected families at Masjid Darul Istiqlaal PPS

KUCHING, Jan 3 Deputy Minister of Utilities (Sarawak Energy & PETROS) Datuk Ibrahim Baki today paid a visit to the Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) at Masjid Darul Istiqlaal in Kampung Sungai Maong to meet and support flood victims.

During the half-hour visit, Ibrahim, who is also Satok assemblyman, personally interacted with residents affected by the floods, offering words of encouragement and reassurance.

He also distributed contributions to representatives of 26 families who were relocated to the centre, providing immediate assistance to those displaced by the recent heavy rains.

The PPS Masjid Darul Istiqlaal, which opened yesterday (Jan 2), currently accommodates 128 flood victims from 26 families, including 70 adults, 41 children, 16 senior citizens, and one infant.

Also present during the visit were the political secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister Ir Irwan Zulkarnain Muhammad Hasbie, and the head of Kampung Sungai Maong, Masni Morri. — DayakDaily
