KUCHING, Jan 31: After days of relentless rain, Sarawak may finally see relief from the recent deluge with improved weather conditions expected starting tomorrow, reports say.

According to a news report by TVS, Malaysian Meteorological Department Sarawak director Khairul Najib Ibrahim said the weather in Sarawak is expected to gradually improve starting tomorrow, Feb 1.

He explained that with no strong monsoon trough expected to enter Malaysia’s region in the next few days, the weather might return to normal throughout the week.

However, he noted that Malaysia, including Sarawak, will still be affected by the lingering Northeast Monsoon.

“The weather atmosphere is expected to remain humid, but not as severe as experienced in the past two to three days.

“Therefore, rain and thunderstorms can still occur, especially in the late afternoon in all areas,” Khairul Najib said when contacted by TVS.

Sea conditions are also expected to improve in the next few days.

However, Khairul Najib advised residents in Sarawak to remain vigilant and monitor weather developments to avoid unexpected risks. – DayakDaily
