KUCHING, Sept 1: Sarawak’s Taylor Louise has made her mark in musical theatre with an impressive debut performance in ‘Dreamweaver: The Musical’ at the Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC) on Aug 29 and 30.

According to a press release, the Kuching-born talent took on the role of Rayna, standing out as the only child actor in the cast, where she wowed audiences with her strong vocals, natural stage presence, and expressive acting—a performance that earned her loud applause and glowing feedback.

Audience members were equally full of praise, with many highlighting her strong vocals and stage charisma. Some even noted that she received the loudest applause of the night.

This milestone came on the heels of her international appearance in London, where she represented Malaysia at the 10th Anniversary ASAF Winner Showcase at the Royal College of Music Britten Theatre.

She was also the sole Sarawakian performer at the event, further cementing her status as a young star to watch.

“Being part of ‘Dreamweaver: The Musical’ has been such an incredible experience. I learned so much and it felt like a dream come true to perform alongside such talented people,” she said.

Among the positive reviews on Taylor’s performance.

Ambrose Eng, director of ‘Dreamweaver: The Musical’, also commended Taylor for her performance.

“Taylor is an exceptional girl when it comes to her unbridled natural talent. At no point was I worried that she could not pull off all that the show asked for her.

“Like most first-time actors and musical theatre performers, all she needed was the belief in herself that she can do it. Her tenure as Rayna in ‘Dreamweaver’ was an inspiration both to me as director and I’m sure to audiences who watched her live.

“No doubt she will go far, with constant belief in self, and willingness to learn more, she will soar beyond the great talent she is today, into the astounding talent I see her to be one day,” said Eng.
