Sarawak’s MIPD and Federal Ministry resolve road project issues in productive meeting

KUCHING, Feb 1: The Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD) Sarawak and the Federal Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) have held a fruitful meeting in which various issues hindering the smooth implementation of road projects under KKDW in the State were resolved, according to Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

Uggah, who is the Deputy Premier of Sarawak and MIPD minister, stated that the meeting was focused on resolving stalled infrastructure projects in the State.

“We managed to resolve various issues which have hampered their (road projects) smooth implementation.


“The KKDW side has been very receptive to our proposals. We have also conveyed to them that MIPD and the State JKR (Public Works Department) will do our best to help implement the stalled projects soon,” he said in a statement issued today.

Uggah led the MIPD delegation, and KKDW was led by its secretary-general Dato Sri Ramlan Dato Harun.

Uggah was joined by MIPD deputy minister Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration, and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala, MIPD permanent secretary Datu Chiew Chee Yau, and JKR State director Datu Ir Ts Richard Tajan. — DayakDaily
